"Keep smiling, while I'm gone" is an interactive storytelling walking game. While strolling through the Levels Yannic Siegwart and me have designed, you learn about the tragic story of the passing of Amelias father.

Level Design
Yannic and I had loads of fun designing the levels of this game. Exploring the pipeline of modeling, texturing and layouting a level has given us both loads of experience for future projects!

Programming
UPBGE offers multiple ways of making levels come to life. Most interactions were made with Logic Bricks, but more complex things had to be solved via Python code or Logic Nodes.

The Engine
UPBGE (Uchronia Project Blender Game Engine) is a fork of blender implementing the legacy game engine blander had back in the day (BGE, also known as Ketsji). With Eevee as a realtime render engine our game got that signature blender look. Having all the work made in one application, instead of switching between modeling, texturing and programming software speeds up the process by alot, which was very helpful, given our timeframe of only 3 months.
